A call for the universal adoption of the Humanable® certification standard, guaranteeing 100% human-created content free from generative AI across all art forms
Something has been taken from you without your knowledge or consent. Every time you stream music, buy a book, watch a film, or browse art, you are increasingly encountering content generated by AI and passed off as human creative work. You are not told. You cannot filter it out. You have no choice.
That is not a technology problem. It is a transparency problem, and it is one that every distribution platform, publisher, label, and marketplace has chosen not to solve, because solving it costs them money.
The harm is not only to you. Artists who have spent a lifetime honing their craft are now being hit with false takedowns from flawed AI detection systems. Their fully human work is flagged, removed, and demonetized based on flawed detection tools, and some platforms provide no warning and no recourse. The tools meant to police AI are punishing the humans they were built to protect.
The Humanable® certification is the solution consumers have been waiting for. It is not a rubber stamp. Every certification is granted only to verified human artists who declare under oath that their work is 100% free of generative AI, at every stage of creation. That oath carries real legal weight, and that is exactly the point. A certified song was written, performed, and produced by human beings. A certified photograph was taken by a human, not generated by a prompt. A certified film or TV script was written by human writers and performed by human actors. The standard works the same way across every art form and every platform, so that wherever you find the Humanable mark, it means exactly the same thing.
We made one narrow practical exception: certain physical special effects like destroying actual vehicles have real environmental costs, so digital enhancement of those specific moments is permitted. Every other creative element must be human.
The only reliable way to protect consumers, artists, authors, and the arts generally is the Humanable standard. No detection tool can keep up. No honor system can survive without proof. Only a verified, legally binding certification, applied before work is published, can draw the line between what is human and what is not.
What we are asking is simple. Every distribution channel, every streaming platform, every bookseller, every marketplace, every publisher, should adopt the Humanable standard and give consumers a Humanable toggle: a simple filter that lets you choose to see only human-created work. Not a label slapped on AI content. A real choice given back to you.
You already have a filter for explicit content. You already have a filter for dietary restrictions when you order food. You deserve a filter for this.
Sign this petition to tell every platform, publisher, and distributor: adopt the Humanable certification standard and give us the toggle.
